Stevie's equasion

Stevie's equasion

a woman on television
defined color
as the absorbtion of every frequency
of light
except it's own.

this absence makes recognition
of color
subtle, sublime
and yet a universal sleight of hand
imperceptible to the naked brain.

Lao Tzu wrote and thought
about the cup
and it's emptiness
as a thing
the space
as an entity
with power and substance
yet no substance.

we now have two curious
etherio-physical phenomena
color with no light of it's own
and an empty cup that's filled with nothing.

another writer may explain them thusly:
in the case of color:
something from nothing leaves something.
and as for the cup:
nothing from something leaves nothing.
